Minor
Students may earn a minor in Medical Laboratory Science by successfully completing five or six MLS courses, totaling a minimum of 20 credits. Students must earn a C- or better, and an overall grade point average of 2.00 or better, in courses that the MLS program advisor approves. Courses taken on the pass/fail basis cannot be used for the minor. Courses may be taken in any order as long as prerequisites are satisfied. A minimum of three MLS core courses and two approved electives are required. This minor does not include a clinical internship, nor does it lead to certification eligibility. Students interested in certification should inquire about the MLS major.
Students should declare an intent to minor as early as possible, and no later than the end of the junior year. During the final term, an application should be made to the Dean to have the minor show on the academic record.
