Research Track
The curriculum for this track focuses on providing students with a quality education in the fundamentals of biomedical laboratory science and laboratory skills in addition to a broad-based university general education. Instead of participating in a clinical track internship, research track students take additional courses (16 – 20 credit hours) and complete an approved undergraduate research project under a faculty mentor, presenting their findings at a UNH undergraduate research conference. Students completing a degree in the MLS research track are not eligible to take a national certification exam, but will be prepared to work in laboratories in medical research and biotechnology related fields or attend graduate school. A post graduation clinical internship may be arranged if space is available and course requirements have been met.
