Monica's family

FamilyFunAbilities is lovingly dedicated to my oldest daughter Monica (in the red dress). The mission of this site is to provide information and inspiration for other families with special needs and disabilities.

Monica was born with multiple birth defects from amniotic band syndrome and a neural tube defect called an occipital encephalocele.

Two days after birth, on Christmas Eve, baby Monica survived life-threatening brain surgery to remove the occipital encephalocele - our own Christmas miracle!

lovingly dedicated to MonicaDespite blindness, cerebral palsy, seizures, skull deformity and mental retardation, Monica continues to learn and enjoy life. We invite you to read Monica's miraculous and inspiring story.
